Patient notice 19.03.20

We currently have members of our team off work as a result of being unwell or self-isolating – this clearly affects our ability to maintain our service. Please be patient with our staff who are doing their very best.

We are receiving very large numbers of requests for medication – much more than we would normally expect. Many of the requests are a long way ahead of when they are due. Please DO NOT order medication too soon and please do not stockpile. Patients who are ordering too much or too early are putting the health of others at risk.

We are receiving a lot of medication requests on paper – we want to reduce that as much as possible to protect our staff. We would prefer online requests or email to mfs.admin@nhs.net – obviously our staff shortages mean that answering the phone to take medication requests will take them away from other tasks.

If you have been allocated a time for a face to face appointment please do not arrive too early for the appointment – you will either have to wait in your car or outside the building. We do not want the waiting room full of patients as it places patients and staff at risk. Some patients coming to the surgery will have underlying health conditions that place them at high risk and we do not want them to have to share a waiting room with other, potentially infectious, patients.

If you or a member of your household have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID 19) – please stay at home and manage your illness there. If you are getting worse you should contact 111 – DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY

Thank you again for your co-operation!
