Happy to share?

Did you know that you can give consent to share your medical record with other health professionals, such as hospital doctors and ambulance crews?  In the event of you needing emergency treatment they would have instant access to your health record, ensuring that they are aware of any medical conditions you may have, as well as information on your current medication.

Some patients assume that this information is automatically shared between your GP surgery and the hospital, but this is a patient choice and you need to let your surgery know if you are happy to share, so that it can be documented in your record.  Please speak to any member of your GP surgery team for further information, or watch this clip to find out the benefits of sharing your record.
